HOUSTON — Industrial Radio Services (IRS) recently integrated Kinder Morgan’s TWIC system. The project entailed integrating 14 TWIC access control readers with multiple handheld units and systems to control plant entrance/exit and dock access for the Coast Guard regulations on TWIC-certified facilities.
From start to finish, the project remained on its 10-week schedule. IRS coordinated electrical contractors and equipment installations, and there were zero recordable safety issues.
IRS’s professionals installed a system that will evolve as TWIC regulations evolve. “TWIC systems for access control are based on government and local port Coast Guard rulings, so always confirm flexibility in your integration and on-site security plan to evolve as regulations are updated,” stated Lael Lockhart, CEO of IRS.
