WEST FARGO, N.D. — Wanzek has expanded the capabilities of its already strong fleet with the addition of a 600-ton LTM1500-8.1 all-terrain (AT) crane. The LTM1500-8.1 has the capacity to exchange the majority of turbine components across a variety of turbine types. Some of today’s larger components used to require crawler cranes to complete the work. Although the crawlers can complete this work, moving them between towers on some sites is a challenge. Using an AT crane to move within a site makes challenging sites more manageable and creates a more efficient schedule. The new LTM1500-8.1 allows Wanzek to work on more towers at more sites in a shorter amount of time, leading to reduced costs and downtime for customers.
