LAFAYETTE, La. — Safety Management Systems LLC (SMS) now offers American Petroleum Institute-approved courses. Crane Operator Basics develops maintenance practices and procedures for use in safely operating pedestal-mounted revolving cranes. Rigging (8-hour) Expanded Hands-On teaches recommended safe rigging practices and procedures for offshore rigs, platforms, boats and helicopters. Additionally, SMS offers Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping vessel personnel with Designated Security Duties for seafarers employed or engaged onboard a vessel as part of the ship’s complement with designated security duties.
