KEMAH, Texas — Refractory Construction Services has recently developed a version of its patented D-Bar refractory anchor for use with its Inverter Drawn Arc (IDA) automatic refractory anchor welding system.
The D-Bar is an individual refractory anchor used in areas where hex mesh is traditionally employed. Unlike hex mesh, the D-Bar allows for variable layout patterns that can be tailored to suit the individual anchoring requirements of virtually any piece of equipment.
D-Bar anchors are available in many different alloys and are currently in service in refineries throughout the U.S. The IDA welding process offers many benefits, some of which include eliminating differential welds and harmful hexavalent chromium fumes, as well as increasing efficiency by up to eight times compared to traditional stick welded anchors.
