-Magellan Midstream Partners today announced a $115 million project to add a new dock and new pipelines to its Galena Park, Texas, terminal on the Houston Ship Channel. Magellan is also expanding connectivity between the terminal and its Houston crude oil distribution system. The connectivity project will be complete by the end of next year and the new dock will be fully operational by the end of 2018.
-Gas processors pushed back today against a plan by the EPA to require them to report releases of toxic chemicals. Via Platts, the Gas Processors Association said it is “unnecessary” to require processing plants to comply with the agency’s Toxics Reporting Inventory (TRI) because they already report the data through other sources. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy last week asked the agency to add oil and gas to the list of industries that must abide by the TRI reporting requirements.
-Chevron appointed Michael Wirth executive vice president (EVP) for Midstream and Development and announced Pierre Breber will replace Wirth as EVP for Downstream and Chemicals, effective Jan. 1. Breber, who currently serves as executive vice president of Gas and Midstream, will oversee Chevron Phillips Chemical in his new role.
