American Midstream Partners on Monday announced an open season for a 45-mile extension of its Magnolia Intrastate natural gas pipeline. The expansion would connect the Magnolia line, which originates in central Alabama, to Tennessee Natural Gas Pipeline’s 500 Line, providing transport to Williams' Transco pipeline through an existing interconnect.
American Midstream said the expansion would offer a more diverse supply to markets in the Southeast and help address the infrastructure challenge in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays. The extension would start up in 2019.
Earlier this month Williams secured contracts to ship natural gas to two Texas LNG export terminals via the Transco pipeline.
