LyondellBasell is considering building a new polyethylene plant at one of its sites in Texas, FuelFix reports. Company CEO Bob Patel said a new plant could be built in the Greater Houston area or at a site farther south in Matagorda or Victoria.
Patel also said LyondellBasell would make a decision next year on a new plant that would produce 900 million pounds of propylene oxide and 2 billion pounds of tertiary butyl alcohol and its derivatives each year. That plant could be built in Channelview, Texas, Patel said.
