A new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit at Dow Chemical’s Oyster Creek site in Freeport, Texas, has passed a key performance test and is operating at full capacity, the company said today. The 750-KTA PDH unit started up in December and completed the performance test in less than two months, Dow said.
Dow President Jim Fitterling said in a statement the new unit would enable the replacement of purchased propylene, allowing for growth in markets in North and South America.
