LyondellBasell announced today Bhavesh V. “Bob” Patel will succeed Jim Gallogly as CEO in January. Patel has served as head of Olefins & Polyolefins (O&P) — Europe, Asia & International and Technology for LyondellBasell since October 2013. He joined the company in 2010 as senior vice president of O&P for the Americas after serving in numerous positions at Chevron and Chevron Phillips Chemical. LyondellBasell credits Patel with restructuring its O&P business in the Americas to take advantage of the shale boom and streamlining its European and Asian O&P operations.
LyondellBasell announced Gallogly’s retirement in September.
