The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) on Wednesday said it would double an expansion project announced in August. Via Reuters, LOOP will now add six aboveground storage tanks, or 2.2 million barrels of capacity. The first three tanks will be built by the fall of 2016 and the second phase will be complete by the following spring. The facility will have a total of 11.2 million barrels of aboveground storage and 71 million barrels of total capacity when the project is complete.
