The U.S. military is intensifying attacks on mobile oil refineries and oil fields in Syria that are controlled by ISIS, Bloomberg reports. An Army colonel on Friday told reporters air strikes aim to put production facilities that provide revenue for the terrorist group out of commission for up to a year. Previous efforts resulted in damages that could be fixed within one or two days. The military does not want to inflict irreparable damage on the facilities, which are seen as key to Syria’s post-war economy.
ISIS claimed responsibility for a series of terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday that killed 129 people.
