A pipeline owned by Crimson Pipeline spilled 700 barrels of crude oil in Ventura County, California, today. Via Reuters, emergency crews are working to prevent the oil from reaching the Pacific Coast. State authorities said the spill appeared to have been stopped as crews built an earth-filled dam near the spill site. The oil is no longer flowing.
Last year a pipeline owned by Plains All American near Santa Barbara spilled approximately 2,500 barrels of oil along the coast and into the ocean.
