TransCanada confirms business support for Keystone XL
TransCanada Corp. has successfully concluded the Keystone XL open season, securing approximately 500,000 bpd of firm, 20-year commitments, positioning the proposed project to proceed.
The announcement builds on the Nov. 20 decision by the Nebraska Public Service Commission to approve the Keystone XL route through the state. The approved route was based on a comprehensive review of the evidence submitted by all parties in the hearing process as well as state agencies to ensure it has a minimal impact to the public and to Nebraska’s natural resources.
TransCanada is continuing outreach in the communities where the pipeline will be constructed and is working collaboratively with landowners in an open and transparent way to obtain the necessary easements for the approved route. Construction preparation has commenced and will increase as the permitting process advances throughout 2018, with primary construction expected to begin in 2019.
The project is expected to generate tens of millions of dollars in local tax revenues, supporting first responders, schools and hospitals, as well as roads and other local infrastructure.

Tellurian to develop three pipelines as part of network
Tellurian Inc. expects to develop the Tellurian Pipeline Network, including the previously announced Driftwood Pipeline (DWPL) and two additional pipelines to expand supply alternatives for the growing natural gas demand in Southwest Louisiana. DWPL is anticipated to be in service mid-2021, with the additional two in service by the end of 2022.
The newly proposed Permian Global Access Pipeline (PGAP) would be an approximately 625-mile, 42-inch pipeline transporting 2 Bcf/d of natural gas. PGAP would originate at the Waha Hub in Pecos County, Texas, and would connect to the Permian and associated shale plays located around Midland, Texas, terminating near Gillis, Louisiana. The newly proposed Haynesville Global Access Pipeline would be an approximately 200-mile, 42-inch pipeline also transporting 2 Bcf/d.
DWPL is a 96-mile, 48-inch natural gas pipeline transporting 4 Bcf/d from near Gillis and terminating at Driftwood LNG. At press time, DWPL was under permitting with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

EPIC approves new 730-mile pipeline
EPIC has received sufficient customer interest to sanction the proposed 730-mile crude pipeline based upon volume commitments and acreage dedications.
The petroleum pipeline would run from Orla, Texas, in the Permian Basin to the Port of Corpus Christi, with capacity up to 590,000 bpd. The project includes terminals in Orla, Pecos, Crane, Wink, Midland, Helena and Gardendale, with Port of Corpus Christi connectivity and export access.
Expected to be in service in 2019, the EPIC Crude Pipeline is being laid alongside EPIC’s NGL Pipeline System, currently under construction.

ONEOK to increase NGLs takeaway capacity out of Rockies region
ONEOK Inc. plans to invest approximately $1.4 billion to construct a new pipeline and related infrastructure to transport natural gas liquids (NGLs) from the Rocky Mountain region to the company’s existing mid-continent NGL facilities.
The Elk Creek Pipeline — an approximately 900-mile, 20-inch-diameter pipeline expected to be completed by the end of 2019 — will have the capacity to transport up to 240,000 bpd of unfractionated NGLs from near the company’s Riverview terminal in Eastern Montana to Bushton, Kansas. The Elk Creek Pipeline is expected to cost approximately $1.2 billion, with related infrastructure costs expected to total approximately $200 million. The pipeline will have the capability to be expanded to 400,000 bpd with additional pump facilities.
