Shell is planning to cut 25% of its deepwater Gulf of Mexico workforce as it continues to reduce costs amid the oil market downturn. Via FuelFix, the move is part of Shell’s plan to eliminate 2,200 jobs by the end of the year ahead of its impending purchase of BG Group. A Shell spokeswoman said in a statement some deepwater Gulf employees could be transferred internally.
