The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), in coordination with LNG Allies, the 27th World Gas Conference, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Energy Institute and other industry members, has launched the U.S. Gas Infrastructure Exports Initiative. The initiative is designed to connect American companies to new export opportunities across the gas value chain in emerging economies. As U.S. LNG export terminals are coming on line, USTDA is expanding its partnership with the American gas industry to generate new LNG exports through the development of gas-related infrastructure in key LNG receiving countries.
As part of the initiative, USTDA issued a call for gas-related project proposals for U.S. companies that have identified project sponsors in high-growth emerging markets. At the launch, USTDA discussed several upcoming gas sector reverse trade missions that will bring prospective overseas LNG buyers and gas infrastructure decision-makers to the U.S. for site visits and meetings with U.S. industry. The upcoming visits include delegations from Senegal, China, and other partner countries.
As a part of the initiative, USTDA is participating in the 17th U.S.-China Oil and Gas Industry Forum in Ningbo, China, and the Latin America and Caribbean Gas Options Forum in Panama City, Panama. These regional gas forums bring together government officials and private sector representatives developing the gas sector in these markets.
Under the initiative, USTDA will use the full breadth of its proven toolkit to support American gas industry jobs including early- stage project preparation assistance that informs how infrastructure projects will ultimately be designed, financed and implemented.
