BP has appointed Upstream Chief Executive Lamar McKay to the new position of deputy CEO amid an executive reorganization. McKay, a 36-year veteran of BP and Amoco who served as president of BP America from 2009-2013, will assume some of the duties currently held by CEO Bob Dudley. Bernard Looney, who serves as COO for production in the upstream segment, will succeed McKay as head of upstream.
BP is realigning its senior executive team amid the retirement of executive vice president for corporate business activities Katrina Landis, who will step down May 1. Landis joined BP in 1992 and has held numerous senior leadership roles, including COO and CEO of BP Alternative Energy. BP said Landis will not be replaced and her duties will be assigned to other members of its executive team.
