Valiant Midstream to build natural gas system in Oklahoma
Valiant Midstream LLC has commenced construction on a natural gas gathering system and cryogenic gas processing plant in the heart of the Arkoma Stack play in southeast Oklahoma. The system is expected to come on line in multiple phases, starting in the second quarter of 2018. It will benefit from long-term dedications by two prominent acreage holders in the region.
Valiant will provide midstream services to multiple oil and gas producers targeting liquids-rich stacked pay zones, including the highly prolific Woodford formation. The initial system infrastructure will span Hughes, Coal and Atoka counties and portions of Pittsburg, Pontotoc and Seminole counties.
The initial phase of the project will include the installation of a 200-millioncubic- feet-of-natural-gas-per-day cryogenic processing plant and a high-pressure trunk line spanning the basin's liquids-rich fairway, with a gathering system consisting of 12-inch to 24-inch steel pipeline, five gas compression facilities and condensate stabilization.
Valiant expects an initial investment of $200 million in the Arkoma Stack and to increase its investment as producers' needs develop across the basin.

Hydraulically fractured horizontal wells account for most new wells
According to EIA, in 2016, hydraulically fractured horizontal wells accounted for 69 percent of all oil and natural gas wells drilled in the U.S. and 83 percent of the total linear footage drilled. The combination of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing has increased the rate of recent U.S. crude oil, lease condensate and natural gas production.
Hydraulically fractured horizontal wells became the predominant method of new U.S. crude oil and natural gas development in October 2011, when total footage (in linear feet) surpassed all other drilling and completion techniques. The combination of horizontal drilling and hydraulically fracturing has contributed to increases in U.S. crude oil and natural gas production, which are both expected to reach record levels in 2018.
In 2016, the latest statistics available, total drilled footage reached nearly 13 million feet, about 10.7 million of which were hydraulically fractured and horizontally drilled.

Foothills Exploration reports success with horizontal well in Utah
Foothills Exploration Inc. recently reported the successful drilling, completion and flow testing of the Stagecoach 111-20H horizontal well, now producing natural gas in commercial quantities.
The Stagecoach 111-20H well is operated by EOG Resources Inc., and Foothills owns a 21-percent working interest in the well. The well has been on line for over 30 days, and production tubing is expected to be set in the near term. The well has been classified by the operator as confidential with Utah's division of oil, gas and mining, and only limited data can be provided.

Cardinal Midstream to develop gas gathering system in Oklahoma
Cardinal Midstream III LLC is developing the Iron Horse System, a new natural gas gathering and processing system designed to serve producers working in Oklahoma's SCOOP/STACK/Merge play. Located in Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin, the liquids-rich play targets multiple benches within the Woodford and Mississippian pay zones, with upside from additional horizons.
Initial plans for Cardinal's Iron Horse System call for more than 100 miles of gas gathering pipeline, multiple compressor stations and a state-of-the-art cryogenic processing plant with the capacity to process 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Construction of the gathering system is underway, and Cardinal expects to commission the system's first natural gas processing plant in the third quarter of 2018.
