Enterprise Products Partners today announced a series of projects to expand its capacity to transport polymer grade propylene (PGP).
Enterprise will convert its 149-mile North Dean pipeline from refinery grade propylene (RGP) service to PGP service. The pipeline originates at Enterprise’s Mont Belvieu, Texas, complex and serves petrochemical plants as far south as Calhoun County, Texas. Enterprise will also convert its Lou-Tex pipeline from Sorrento, La., to Mont Belvieu from chemical grade propylene service to PGP service. Additionally, Enterprise will build a new 65-mile RGP pipeline from Sorrento to Breaux Bridge, La., and expand rail receipt facilities at Mont Belvieu to accommodate up to 100 RGP rail cars per day.
The North Dean pipeline conversion and the RGP pipeline and rail terminal expansion are expected to be complete in early 2017. The Lou-Tex pipeline conversion is scheduled for completion in 2020.
Enterprise is set to bring a new PDH plant in Mont Belvieu online in September 2016, which will expand the facility’s PGP production capacity to 8 billion pounds.
