The Canadian government has approved Enbridge’s proposed $6 billion Northern Gateway pipeline, which would carry Alberta crude to the Pacific coast for export. Via Bloomberg, the proposal is subject to more than 200 conditions, including the construction of extra oil storage facilities and the establishment of an emergency response plan covering spills up to 230,000 barrels.
