UPDATE: Reuters reports that PBF Energy is in the process of restarting the FCCU and hydrotreater at its Torrance refinery.
--
A process upset led to the shutdowns of an FCCU and a hydrotreater at PBF Energy’s newly acquired Torrance, California, refinery, Reuters reports. It is the latest in a series of setbacks at the refinery since a February 2015 explosion that damaged key pollution control equipment. In June, three workers were injured when a crane that was lifting demolition debris tipped over. PBF acquired the refinery from ExxonMobil July 1.
