Burrow Global LLC has recently enacted a new company-wide initiative focused on continuously improving quality performance and guiding decision-making for best-in-class solutions to benefit customers, employees and suppliers. The Committed 2 Quality (C2Q) program will replace the former Quality Management System.
"Our goal is to make quality like breathing: We don't have to think about it. It just happens; it's in our DNA," said Mark Vise, chief financial officer and executive sponsor of C2Q. The program consists of four pillars of excellence: 1. process driven, 2. metric driven, 3. continuous improvement and 4. sustainable results. Guided by these pillars, Vise said regardless of location or new players in the system, Burrow will work toward continuously improving and delivering sustainable results in all areas of business and workmanship.
C2Q, modeled after Burrow's successful internal safety program, was created in an effort to place an even stronger commitment on quality. To keep quality at the forefront of every employee's mind, internal company meetings now end with a "Quality Moment," where personnel discuss quality work examples, much like the "Safety Moments" that start off meetings.
"We believe it is imperative to our future success that every employee from top to bottom be committed to quality," Vise said.
With C2Q guiding each decision, Vise explained Burrow will strive for continuous improvement and commit to quality in all aspects. By understanding what its customers value most in quality, Burrow will also be able to provide better customer service.
"Our customers are a vital part of the initiative as well," Vise added. "We expect them to hold us accountable, and their feedback on how we are doing is an important part of our continuous improvement cycle."
Although C2Q is a program initiative, Vise stressed it is ultimately much more: "C2Q is a frame of mind and attitude that quality is at the forefront of everything we do at Burrow Global," he said.
