United States Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) recognizes that there are a lot of things that fall underneath the “umbrella” of infrastructure.
“So much of our national energy production and refining capacity are concentrated in this area that make it important for us to invest in infrastructure. It’s not just roads and bridges,” Sen. Cornyn observed at CERAWeek by IHS Markit, held recently in Houston, Texas. Ports of entry, particularly between Texas and Mexico, should be upgraded and modernized “so legitimate trade and commerce can flow more freely,” he added.
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) joined Sen. Cornyn at CERAWeek on a panel titled “What’s Ahead in Washington?” Dr. Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman of IHS Markit and Chair of CERAWeek moderated the discussion.
