By focusing on its core values, CEDA Inc. has grown to become one of the world's largest and most experienced suppliers of industrial maintenance and turnaround services since its founding in 1973. CEDA's business philosophy has always been built on the following set of core values:
- Safety. CEDA has a zero-incident culture, ensuring everyone arrives home safely every day.
- People. CEDA's people are differentiated by their skills, knowledge and passion.
- Integrity. CEDA lives by its values and always strives to do the right thing.
- Customers. CEDA delivers services and advice as a trusted partner to its customers.
- Communication. CEDA's employees don't avoid difficult conversations; openness, fairness and facts guide communication and decision making.
- Trust. CEDA has confidence in its team to be competent, have character and respect stakeholders.
- Accountability. CEDA delivers on commitments and answers for its actions and results.
"Embracing these values in our daily lives helps us sustain a corporate culture where these values are an integrated component of our overall management philosophy and management systems," said Todd Carson, director of U.S. operations for CEDA. "We recognize our success depends on providing excellent products and services through ethical, committed actions."
CEDA provides seven key service offerings throughout North America to help reduce client spend on maintenance, turnarounds and capital projects, all with a focus on improving uptime of its clients' assets. The company has 2,200 core employees operating out of 10 central hubs throughout North America, with U.S. offices located in Texas and Iowa.
"While we serve a variety of industrial enterprises around the globe, our growth market is in the U.S.," Carson said. "We deliver a range of industrial services, which include automated bundle and exchanger cleaning, high-pressure and chemical cleaning, tank cleaning, and pigging and decoking services."
Among its many innovations, CEDA was one of the first companies in the world to pioneer the automation of industrial cleaning equipment.
CEDA can now deploy 11 technologically advanced mobile pigging and decoking units, one of which is an Electric Drive Triple Pumper -- the first of its kind in the market and designed to improve efficiency and lower conventional pumper operating emissions. All CEDA's pigging units are equipped with emergency shutdown devices, double spill containment, explosion-proof lighting, and high- and low-automatic shut-offs. These devices also allow for automated computer trending of pigging data to monitor all valves during operation.
While technical innovation is important, the real driving force behind CEDA is its employees. CEDA's employees are on industrial sites every day performing longterm, day-to-day maintenance contracts and turnarounds. This means CEDA employees are very familiar with the industrial environment, making them more productive and much more safety-conscious. A high percentage of CEDA's employees have longterm experience in plant environments.
"We all know safety is a fundamental key requirement to work on industrial sites, and CEDA's employees strive for zero," Carson said. "We have received numerous safety awards, including recognition by AFPM."
