Crude oil train
Two separate train derailments in Wisconsin resulted in spills of crude oil and ethanol this past weekend. Via the Associated Press, at least 10 cars of a Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) train carrying crude oil derailed in Watertown on Sunday, and some were leaking. CP did not disclose how much oil leaked.
On Saturday, a BNSF Railway train derailed two miles north of a town near the Mississippi River and spilled thousands of gallons of ethanol. Railroad crews stopped leaks from five cars and placed booms along the shoreline of the river.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
