A fire that forced ExxonMobil to shut down its chemical plant in Beaumont, Texas, today has been extinguished, according to local media reports. Via KFDM News, the fire broke out in a propylene unit and was extinguished as of 5:45 a.m. An ExxonMobil spokesman said there are no injuries and all workers have been accounted for. The company is keeping workers away from the affected area and is monitoring air quality. ExxonMobil said no impact to the community has been indicated.
