Terrorists attacked Air Products’ gas plant near Lyon, France, today, an assault that left one person decapitated. Via the Associated Press, an attacker drove a car through the gate of the factory and rammed into gas canisters, touching off a small explosion that injured two people. A firefighter at the plant seized the suspect, who was later apprehended by French authorities. Several other people with suspected ties to the attack were also taken into custody.
Air Products said the site is now secure and that all its employees have been accounted for and evacuated. It did not, however, say whether any of its employees had been wounded. Authorities are trying to identify the person who was beheaded.
UPDATE: The man killed in the attack was not an employee of Air Products. Reports indicate he was the employer of the attacker, who worked at a delivery company.
