TAMPA, Fla. — SWS Environmental Services (SWSES) has formed a scholarship to help students attain their educations at a local university in South Florida. The students will compete for a share of the scholarship as the top three applicants will be awarded $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. They will be writing an essay titled “Preventative Measures: How Florida Industries Can Minimize Their Contribution to Environmental Pollution.”
The focus of the scholarship is to raise awareness and increase knowledge about the ways companies can prevent pollution.
“The SWS Environmental Scholarship Fund at the University of South Florida (USF) was formed to give back to the community, invest in the next generation of college students and to educate those in the communities we serve about how environmental services keep the community safe and clean,” explained Jim Weber, CEO of SWSES.
