Olympus
Ensuring pipe integrity, particularly against corrosion, is essential to operational efficiency as well as safety. Olympus' corrosion testing solutions provide an ideal technological solution by enabling inspectors to collect higher-resolution data with fully encoded C-Scan imaging.
OmniScan® SX
Built on over two decades' worth of exceptional phased array inspection experience, Olympus' OmniScan® SX is fully compatible with the extensive portfolio of Olympus scanners, probes and accessories to provide streamlined and efficient inspections, from design and setup to acquisition and analysis.
A single-group and nonmodular instrument, OmniScan SX is cost-effective and easy to operate for less demanding applications. Designed for portability and easy use, OmniScan SX is 33-percent lighter and 50-percent smaller than comparable OmniScan models. An 8.4-inch touch screen and intuitive interface provide smooth menu selection, zooming, gate adjustment, cursor movement, and text- and value- input, while full-screen mode maximizes visibility and converts many menu functions into easy touch-screen operations. With easy-to-follow setup and calibration wizards, a rapid refresh rate for both the S-scan and A-scan displays, and a fast pulse repetition frequency (PRF), OmniScan SX is a highly efficient inspection tool, especially when paired with one of Olympus' advanced scanning solutions.
Dual Linear Array™ probes
Olympus' Dual Linear Array™ probes improve productivity through features such as larger beam coverage, faster scan speed and C-scan imaging with increased data-point density. The probes' pitchcatch technique offers better near-surface resolution and pit detection than standard phased array pulse-echo, improving the probability of detection of critical wall thinning.
Featuring built-in irrigation and a replaceable delay line that can be contoured to better adapt to pipe curvature, the Dual Linear Array corrosion probe can now be used to perform automated inspections.
HydroFORM™ scanner
As the first commercially available, semi-automated phased array product for corrosion mapping applications, HydroFORM™ probes provide optimum near-surface resolution, precision measurements and an enormous improvement in flaw characterization over conventional ultrasound.
HydroFORM's innovative water-column concept eliminates the need for a wedge by using a low-flow water supply and consumable gaskets to provide excellent surface conformance and optimized coupling conditions even on rough surfaces. Paired with an OmniScan SX flaw detector and CHAIN scanner, MapSCANNER or Map ROVER, HydroFORM offers an ideal solution for the detection of wall-thickness reductions due to corrosion, abrasion and erosion, as well as mid-wall damage such as hydrogen- induced blistering or manufacturing- induced laminations.
