Marathon Petroleum has shut down a naphtha hydrotreater at its refinery in Detroit, Reuters reports. A source said on Tuesday said the refinery would be back to normal operations within 48 hours.
The refinery shutdown and an extended petroleum products pipeline outage compelled Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to declare a state of energy emergency on Tuesday.
