BASF has postponed plans to build a 475,000-metric-ton-per-year propylene plant in Freeport, Texas, Reuters reports. A company spokeswoman said the decision was based on mid- and long-term oil and natural gas price projections. The oil price collapse that began in late 2014 has narrowed the spread between oil and natural gas, rendering some gas-driven projects unviable.
