Shell on Thursday said 2,100 barrels of crude oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico from an underwater pipe system at its Brutus platform. The spill has been contained, and there were no injuries. Shell said there are no drilling activities at the platform, and the spill is not a well-control incident. The company also said it shut in production at its Brutus and Glider fields.
