-Integrys Energy Group agreed to sell the Upper Peninsula Power Co. (UPPCO) to Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Partners for approximately $299 million. UPPCO is a regulated electric utility that serves 52,000 customers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
-A small explosion at PDVSA’s Isla refinery on the island of Curacao resulted in three injuries on Monday. The refinery’s staff reported that the facility was back up and running at normal capacity later that day.
-Yet another crude oil train derailment was reported yesterday, this time on a railroad bridge in Philadelphia. Fortunately, there was no release of oil and no injuries were reported. Federal lawmakers have in recent days called for more pipelines to be built and tighter regulations placed on tank cars that carry crude oil.
-Shell upstream head Andy Brown is taking medical leave after undergoing a recent medical procedure. The company chose its executive vice president for integrated gas Maarten Wetselaar to fill Brown’s spot as he recuperates.
