Valero has started up a $400 million, 90,000-barrel-per-day crude topping unit at its Houston refinery, Reuters reports. Valero did not say exactly when it started up the unit, which will increase the refinery’s light crude processing capability.
Valero started up a new 70,000-barrel-per-day crude topping unit at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery last December.
Several U.S. refineries have boosted their light, sweet crude processing capabilities amid the shale oil boom.
