The city of Rosemount, Minnesota, has approved Flint Hills Resources’ plan to build a $150 million combined heat and power plant at its Pine Bend refinery. Via the Rosemount Town Pages, Flint Hills said the plant would provide about 40% of the refinery’s power. Construction begins this fall, and the plant is expected to start up by 2018.
Flint Hills in February announced it would make $750 million in upgrades to the refinery, including the replacement of two 1960s-era coking units.
