This Satellite Shelters Employee Spotlight was submitted by a group of employees at the Minneapolis branch who work closely with Randy Schonberger's branch in Mandan, North Dakota, on operations strategy. The Minneapolis branch delivered two double-wide mobile offices to a customer in Keene, North Dakota, a few months ago. Keene is about three hours away from Schonberger's yard and office in Mandan. If you know anything about driving through North Dakota, these are three monotonous and tiresome hours. A couple months after delivery, the customer in Keene called because it wanted to install skirting onto the unit before the weather changed and winter set in. Schonberger's office was called to service this job.
Once Schonberger arrived on-site, he noticed the unit's anchoring needed to be strengthened and reset to ensure the highest level of safety for the customer. He then took it upon himself to re-anchor both buildings before starting to skirt, which added about four hours to his already long day.
Instead of leaving and coming back another day to finish the skirting, since he would have been at 10 hours with the driving, Schonberger completed both tasks and did not arrive home until 2 a.m. This is a clear example of going above and beyond for a customer to ensure its safety in the event of an emergency. Schonberger is also an example of how Satellite continues to raise the bar and set the industry standard as a frontrunner in customer service.
