LyondellBasell on Wednesday reported unexpected mechanical issues at its La Porte, Texas, and Morris, Illinois, plants. Via Platts, the issues prompted the company to declare force majeure on linear HDPE. LyondellBasell said it is working to gauge the full impact of the issues.
LyondellBasell is set to restart a coking unit at its Houston refinery that was damaged in an April fire by mid-June.
