A power failure led to the temporary shutdown of a sulfur recovery unit at LyondellBasell’s Houston refinery on Tuesday. Via the Houston Chronicle, the outage resulted in a brief release of sulfur dioxide and prompted company officials to order a shelter-in-place. LyondellBasell is working to restore power to the affected area. The company said no emergency response effort was needed.
