As the Trump administration moves forward with an ambitious energy and environmental reform agenda, the U.S. Chamber's Global Energy Institute and the law firm Beveridge & Diamond have launched a comprehensive Energy Tracker to help follow key regulatory, judicial and legislative developments.
The user-friendly Energy Tracker contains a sortable database of federal energy and environmental actions tracked by date, agency, topic and issue area.
Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber's Global Energy Institute, said, "This tool will be valuable for businesses, policymakers, stakeholders, journalists and anyone else who would like to keep track of regulatory, legal and policy actions on energy and environment."
"The magnitude and pace of developments in Washington, and understanding those developments, can pose challenges for businesses. As a firm that has focused on energy and environmental regulation and litigation since the early 1970s, when many of these laws were written, we are pleased to partner with the Global Energy Institute to provide this resource," said David Friedland of Beveridge & Diamond.
The Energy Tracker will continuously monitor and quantify the progress of energy- related regulatory and policy reforms. At the time of launch, the tracker includes eight executive orders, four presidential memoranda and three public laws.
In addition, the tracker identifies 16 energy-related regulatory and policy reforms that have been initiated or are under review, five reforms formally proposed and 12 actions that have been finalized or completed (not including project-specific actions such as leases or permit approvals).
Also included in the tracker is litigation pertaining to at least 15 ongoing energy actions, including seven regulatory-related court cases being held in abeyance and three court actions that have overturned executive branch postponement of regulatory implementation.
