Torrance, California, fire officials on Friday said human error caused a 300-ton crane to collapse at a local refinery in June. Via the Daily Breeze, the crane fell over as it was lifting demolition debris. The crane damaged a fuel gas line and a steam line. Three workers suffered minor injuries.
It was the latest in a series of incidents that have plagued the refinery since a February 2015 explosion damaged key pollution control equipment. ExxonMobil on Friday transferred ownership of the refinery to PBF Energy.
