DEER PARK, Texas - A shelter-in-place order that was issued Wednesday morning because of a fire at a plant in the northern part of Deer Park has been lifted, via click2houston.
A message posted on the city’s emergency management Twitter about 8:40 a.m. said that all people north of P Street should seek shelter immediately. Just after 9 a.m., a message was posted on the same page, saying the order had been lifted.
According to a message posted on the Facebook page of the Deer Park Police Department, the alert was prompted by a fire at the Hexion Inc. plant, which is inside the Shell refinery compound.
