BIC Alliance and its marketing partners will host a private screening of the film “Lone Survivor” Jan. 24 in Pasadena, Texas. A similar event was held Jan. 17, when a group of BIC staff members, marketing partners and retired and active military service members attended a private screening of the film in Baton Rouge, La. The private screenings are being held to honor veterans in industry. BIC encourages all who plan to attend to invite co-workers, vendors and suppliers who are past or present members of the Armed Forces. (See RSVP details below.)
“A group of our team had the honor of watching ‘Lone Survivor’ thanks to BIC Alliance,” said Ben Fromenthal, director of sales and marketing at Bengal, who attended the Baton Rouge screening. “We’d like to thank BIC for hosting and putting this great event together. All of us at Bengal express our utmost appreciation for every brave individual who has served and is serving to protect a country that allows us the freedom we have today.”
In addition to the private screenings, BIC was a “Never Forget” sponsor for a Jan. 7 pre-release “Lone Survivor” viewing in Plano, Texas, hosted by the Boot Campaign. The Boot Campaign is an organization that raises awareness of the challenges faced by members of the military when they retire or return from service abroad. The group’s founders were inspired by the story of retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, whose experiences in combat during the war in Afghanistan provide the basis for the film. BIC’s sponsorship allowed it to invite marketing partners TEEX, Worksite Lighting and Turner Industries to the event. BIC Alliance member NCCER was a “Boots On” sponsor.
“Going to the ‘Lone Survivor’ pre-screening had a huge impact on me,” said Christopher Lyon of TEEX. “I am a two-time combat vet myself. I truly loved seeing the outpouring of gratitude and charity made possible by [BIC’s] support. Thank you for the experience. I am better because of it.”
The Plano event also benefited Luttrell’s Lone Survivor Foundation, another organization that provides support for members of the Armed Forces.
